Osmo Reflector for iPad
A key component in Osmo’s incredibly successful educational gaming system is the Reflector unit which perches cheerfully atop an iPad. It bounces images of the player’s activity into the device camera to create the unique analog-to-digital interactivity that makes the Osmo experience special. Osmo needed to quickly develop a new and adjustable reflector to accommodate changes in iPad and iPhone design. Tact proposed a variety of simple mechanisms for the new reflector and delivered a design that looks exactly like the old one but is more future-proof and fits on the broadest range of devices. Kids can now use a single reflector on a new iPad and their grandparents’ old hand-me-down. By the simple turn of a screw, the new reflector adjusts to the varying distance of the iPad/iPhone camera to the edge of the bezel. There’s no need for a screwdriver; a coin or Tanagram tile edge will do the job.
