The life-sized, stereoscopic, holographic-like video communication technology is a notable step into the future of video conferencing.
HP Dimension with Google Beam creates a video conference experience that feels like having a face-to-face conversation through an open window. The magic of the user experience starts with a series of high-definition cameras used to create a 3D model of the user. All the lighting, cameras and internal computers generated a tremendous amount of heat that made precise alignment of the cameras difficult.
Tact worked closely with HP’s ID team to maximize the passive airflow through the system, preserving the original design intent without using additional, noisy fans which would have ruined the illusion. It’s an exciting step forward in making virtual collaboration feel like an in-person interaction.
