ChillShark Tub Converting Cold Plunge
At Tact, we approach every project with a clear focus: anticipate risks, align with business goals, honor the aesthetic, and deliver results. When Chillshark approached us with their idea for a portable cold-plunge system, we didn’t just dive into the mechanical design—we took a deliberate, strategic approach to ensure their concept could navigate the pitfalls inherent in the development process, and most importantly, succeed in the real world. Here’s how we did it. ↓↓

Spotting Risks Early: The EPA Regulation Example
We’re always on the lookout for potential challenges that could impact a project. For Chillshark’s system, which depends on refrigeration technology, compliance with regulations was a key consideration. The team identified early on that the US EPA was set to tighten refrigerant standards by 2025. Because we actively seek out risks, we optimized the design to meet the upcoming standards, ensuring compliance well ahead of the deadline. As a result, Chillshark has a head start in the market with a product that’s already future-proof.
Smart Sourcing: Keeping Costs in Check
The Chillshark system needed to be small, powerful, and portable—features that can easily drive up costs. We knew their business goals hinged on affordability, so we didn’t just grab the first components we found. Instead, we carefully vetted suppliers and explored custom options to find parts that delivered on performance without breaking the budget. Our focus was on striking the right balance between innovation and cost, ensuring Chillshark got a product that was both cutting-edge and financially sound.
Oh my god, thank you, this is exactly what we dreamed about.
Teamwork That Works: We don’t do this alone.
The best products work as good as they look, and the Chillshark founders insisted on an iconic design. That takes an experienced team, including regulatory and technical experts, to get the mechanical design right from the start. Together with world-class ID firm, Sample Studio, we hit the challenging mechanical and performance specs and delivered an elegantly designed product that customers will love.
The Result: A Vision Brought to Life
Seeing the first functional prototype, the CEO commented: “Oh my god, thank you, this is exactly what we dreamed about.” That reaction was no accident—it was the outcome of our proactive planning and hands-on collaboration. At Tact, we see the big picture. We dig into the details, manage risks before they surface, and work as a team to bring ideas to life.
